Vipan Mehta. My journey in the industry has been shaped by hands-on experience, continuous learning since 1972 and strong stakeholder engagement. Building and scaling businesses in a competitive environment taught me the importance of adaptability, resilience, and long-term vision. Key milestones include expanding market reach, strengthening distribution networks, and actively contributing to industry platforms. These experiences have reinforced my belief in collaborative growth, innovation, and creating value not just for business, but for the entire ecosystem.
ES. Now that IRE 2026 has concluded, how would you evaluate its success in terms of scale, business outcomes, and industry impact? How do you see large-scale exhibitions like IRE contributing to the growth of the MICE industry in India?
Vipan Mehta. IRE 2026 has been a remarkable success across all parameters—scale, participation, and business engagement. The strong presence of exhibitors, international participation, and high-quality visitor turnout translated into meaningful business opportunities and partnerships. Such large-scale exhibitions play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry by positioning the country as a preferred global destination. They not only drive economic activity but also foster knowledge exchange, innovation, and global collaboration, which are essential for industry growth.
ES. Beyond exhibitions, how is the rubber industry adapting to changing global dynamics and innovation trends?
Vipan Mehta. The rubber industry is undergoing a significant transformation driven by sustainability, technology, and evolving global supply chains. Companies are increasingly focusing on eco-friendly materials, circular economy practices, and reducing carbon footprints. At the same time, innovation in product development, automation, and advanced manufacturing processes is enhancing efficiency and quality. The industry is also becoming more resilient by diversifying sourcing strategies and embracing digitalization to stay competitive in a rapidly changing global landscape.
ES. What role do you believe technology and modern event solutions play in enhancing exhibitor and visitor experiences today?
Vipan Mehta. Technology has become central to delivering seamless and impactful event experiences. From digital registration and AI-driven matchmaking to virtual platforms and real-time analytics, modern solutions significantly enhance engagement and efficiency. For exhibitors, it means better lead generation and targeted interactions. For visitors, it ensures convenience, personalization, and meaningful networking. Hybrid event formats are also expanding reach, allowing participation beyond geographical boundaries.
ES. What is your broader vision for positioning India as a global hub for both the rubber industry and international trade exhibitions?
Vipan Mehta. India has immense potential to emerge as a global hub, supported by its strong manufacturing base, skilled workforce, and growing domestic market. My vision is to see India not only as a production powerhouse but also as a center for innovation, sustainability, and global trade engagement. By strengthening infrastructure, encouraging policy support, and hosting world-class exhibitions like IRE, we can attract international stakeholders and investments.
The goal is to create an ecosystem where industry, technology, and global collaboration come together to position India at the forefront of both the rubber sector and the global exhibitions landscape.
