NürnbergMesse, one of Europe’s leading exhibition organisers, is looking forward to a landmark 2026 after achieving its highest sales figure for an odd-numbered events year in 2025. The company reported revenue of approximately €350 million, significantly ahead of its 2023 performance of €265.1 million, despite the cyclically lighter event schedule typically seen in odd-numbered years.

According to Peter Ottmann, CEO of NürnbergMesse Group, international customers contributed to roughly half of this revenue, reflecting strong global engagement with the company’s trade fairs and conferences. Looking ahead, Ottmann expressed confidence that 2026 will surpass all prior records, with an expected sales figure of around €390 million — a new historical high for the organisation.

The 2025 events calendar, despite broader macroeconomic challenges including geopolitical tensions, protectionist trade policies, and a subdued German economy, delivered robust results. The group’s events attracted more than 31,000 exhibitors and approximately 1.4 million visitors, both marking a 12% increase compared to the corresponding figures in 2023. This performance underlined the continued relevance and resilience of physical trade shows as essential platforms for business interaction and industry growth.

NürnbergMesse’s portfolio recorded particularly strong performances in specialty segments. Security-focused exhibitions such as EnforceTac (security and defence), it-sa (IT security), and Perimeter Protection (building security) emerged as standout contributors. Other successful events included KOMMUNALE, addressing municipal procurement needs, and the SPS guest event, which focuses on automation technology. Additionally, Interlift, a guest event for the lift industry held in Nuremberg for the first time, recorded substantial growth.

Internationally, the group’s subsidiaries in Brazil and Greece recorded new highs in 2025, building on strong performances in the previous year. Expansion through strategic acquisitions also marked the year. In September, the Greek subsidiary FORUM acquired O.MIND, a logistics-focused trade fair and publishing company, while NürnbergMesse India entered the publishing space with its acquisition of WOODNEWS magazine to bolster its woodworking trade fair portfolio. In China, NürnbergMesse celebrated its 20th anniversary and announced a joint venture with Hangzhou Fima Expo to launch RACC ASEAN in Thailand in 2026.

On the infrastructure front, NürnbergMesse continues to invest heavily in its exhibition centre. The company plans to invest €500 million over the next decade to modernise facilities, including the renovation of Hall 11 and development of a new entry structure. A photovoltaic system is also nearing completion as part of ongoing sustainability initiatives.

Looking ahead to 2026, NürnbergMesse has approximately 150 events scheduled globally, including 66 in Nuremberg alone. Among the flagship events are the 75th Spielwarenmesse toy fair and the 50th anniversary of the IFH trade fair for sanitary, home and building technology, both expected to draw significant international participation and contribute to the company’s projected record year.
