The Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav (BVM) 2026 is set to open today, 12 August, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together Indian businesses, MSMEs, manufacturers, traders, startups, investors, policymakers and buyers for a four-day multi-sector business platform. Held under the theme “Made in India. Made for India. Made for the World,” the event will run until 15 August 2026, with a focus on strengthening domestic trade and creating wider business opportunities for Indian enterprises.

Organised as a joint initiative of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), with support from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, BVM 2026 is positioned around the theme “Made in India. Made for India. Made for the World.”

A National Platform for Indian Enterprise

The expo aims to go beyond a conventional exhibition by creating opportunities for business networking, buyer-seller meetings, investment, market access and knowledge exchange. The organisers are expecting around 1,000 exhibitors, 2 lakh business delegates and nearly 10 lakh visitors, with participation from businesses and stakeholders across India and international markets.

The event will feature eight dedicated zones, covering B2B engagement, investment and finance, seminars, skilling and training, tourism and culture, food, women and youth entrepreneurship, and an Ability Expo showcasing businesses led by differently-abled entrepreneurs.

The exhibition spans a broad range of sectors, including textiles, footwear, toys and gifts, real estate, engineering and manufacturing, green energy, automobiles and EVs, FMCG, IT and electronics, agriculture, aviation, banking, biotechnology, chemicals, consumer durables and financial services, among others.

Focus on MSMEs, Startups and Global Markets

A key objective of BVM 2026 is to help Indian businesses expand beyond their existing markets. The platform is designed to connect MSMEs, manufacturers, rural enterprises, women entrepreneurs, cooperatives, startups and traders with buyers, investors and institutional stakeholders.

The event also includes the Bharat Innovation & Startup Exchange (BISE), providing a platform for startups, investors, incubators, mentors, policymakers and industry leaders to connect and explore opportunities for collaboration and growth. Recent BVM updates have highlighted international engagement as well, including a meeting with Peter Hobwani, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Zimbabwe, aimed at exploring new business and trade opportunities.

From Local to Global

The broader vision of BVM is closely linked to Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, Vocal for Local and Local for Global. CAIT describes the initiative as an effort to promote Indian-made products and services, strengthen domestic trade and MSMEs, provide market access, encourage investment and export linkages, and promote women and youth entrepreneurship.

For the exhibition and MICE industry, BVM 2026 is significant for the scale and diversity of its format – combining trade exhibition, B2B meetings, investment facilitation, conferences, startup engagement, tourism and cultural showcases at one of India’s largest exhibition venues.

With thousands of businesses and stakeholders expected to participate, Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 is positioned as a national marketplace designed to connect Indian enterprise with opportunities across India and the world.
