ES. Tell us about yourself and the vision behind founding Bigsea Marcom.
I am Verticaa Dvivedi, an entrepreneur driven by the passion to build meaningful platforms that empower the architecture, design, and building materials community in India. Bigsea Marcom was founded in 2009 with a clear vision—to create a powerful ecosystem that bridges brands, architects, manufacturers, and professionals through focused media, events, and exhibitions. Our goal has always been to elevate industry standards, facilitate collaboration, and showcase innovation by providing year-round market connect. It has a team that is working continuously to strengthen India’s design sector, interior products and building material industry.
ES. What critical decisions or milestones helped MATECIA and THE WADE ASIA to grow into leading players?
It is the DNA of the organization that has built MATECIA Exhibition and THE WADE ASIA into leading players.
The teams behind it are in the market 365 days a year with real on-ground market connect, meeting the real players of the market, building connections and contributing to the industry regularly through its market-research wing, the digital platforms, one-to-one connect, content, podcasts as well as publishing.
What makes the ground work profound is the fact that it has been more than 15 years of regular work in the market, which means we don’t just organize events; we live and breathe through it throughout the year. Total dedication to the industry and the intent of doing the best for the industry has been pivotal in our journey from a small media company to a leading media and exhibition powerhouse.

ES. As THE WADE ASIA has entered into its 10th year. What are the key developments that happened during the past decade?
I will share two important developments, one, THE WADE ASIA is more than an architecture event—it is India’s largest platform championing women in design, and it plays a critical role in shaping leadership and inclusivity in the built environment.
The impact of THE WADE ASIA reaches beyond metropolitan hubs, giving visibility and voice to talented women from tier 2 and tier 3 cities who often lacked access to mainstream design networks. The exposure and recognition gained through THE WADE ASIA have boosted their professional confidence, enabling them to compete on equal footing and lead innovative projects.
This democratization of opportunity has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of THE WADE ASIA’s journey.
ES. Two, THE WADE ASIA is not only a platform for designers but also a significant catalyst for empowering businesses within the architecture and built environment sector.
By bringing together architects, interior designers, manufacturers, suppliers, and developers at one place, THE WADE ASIA creates a vibrant ecosystem that fosters collaboration and business growth. It enables brands and manufacturers to directly connect with key decision-makers and influencers in design, opening new channels for partnerships, product innovation, and market expansion.

After the great success of MATECIA South India in February 2025 at BIEC in Bengaluru, we are currently focusing completely on the national edition of MATECIA that happens from New Delhi, dates being 21-22-23-24 August 2025 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. Our focus remains on deepening the impact of THE WADE ASIA and MATECIA Exhibition as leading industry platforms.
ES. How do MATECIA and THE WADE ASIA complement each other in creating a holistic ecosystem for the architecture, interior design, and building materials industry?
MATECIA and THE WADE ASIA together create a unique and powerful ecosystem.
MATECIA focuses on the material and manufacturing side, bringing together suppliers, manufacturers, and innovators of building materials, surfaces, and interior products. It is where the industry discovers new products, technologies, and sustainable solutions that shape the physical fabric of our built environment.
On the other hand, THE WADE ASIA with its 10 years of connect centers on the creative and professional community—architects, interior designers, and women leaders who envision and design these spaces.
By running these events concurrently and under one umbrella, they foster seamless collaboration between designers and manufacturers —bridging creativity and building commerce for stakeholders.
