RX Global Appoints Alison Powell as First Global CMO

RX has announced the appointment of Alison Powell as its first-ever Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), marking a significant step in strengthening the company’s global marketing leadership and strategic growth ambitions. The newly created role reflects RX’s commitment to enhancing its marketing capabilities and accelerating innovation across international markets.

Powell brings over two decades of extensive global marketing experience, having held senior leadership roles across renowned organisations such as Elsevier, BP, AstraZeneca, and Kellogg’s. Her professional journey spans both B2B and B2C sectors, equipping her with deep expertise in driving customer-focused strategies and large-scale marketing transformation.

She joins RX from Elsevier Health, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing a global team of more than 190 marketing professionals operating across multiple regions. During her tenure, Powell played a key role in building a centralized and high-performing marketing function, strengthening commercial alignment while establishing strong governance frameworks to support sustainable business growth.

In her new position at RX, Powell will lead the development and execution of the company’s global marketing strategy. Her responsibilities will include advancing digital transformation initiatives, scaling data-driven and AI-enabled marketing capabilities, and fostering a unified global marketing culture focused on performance, innovation, and measurable results. All Business Unit Hub marketing leaders will report directly to her, while Powell herself will report to RX CEO Hugh Jones and become a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.

Welcoming the appointment, Hugh Jones highlighted Powell’s proven ability to drive transformational marketing performance and her strong focus on customer-centric innovation. He emphasized that her leadership will play a crucial role in reinforcing RX’s marketing foundations and supporting the organisation’s future growth strategy.
