The New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2026, one of the most anticipated literary and publishing events in Asia, is set to take place from 10 to 18 January 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Organized by the National Book Trust, India (NBT) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) as co-organiser and venue partner, this year’s edition is poised to be a dynamic international celebration of books, ideas, and cultural exchange.

As a major fixture on the global literary calendar, NDWBF has been held annually for over five decades and continues to draw attention from publishers, authors, literary professionals, and readers from around the world. The 2026 edition is positioned to showcase a broad spectrum of activities with 600+ events and sessions planned and participation confirmed from 50+ countries, reflecting its growing international stature.

The fair’s extensive programming will feature rich cultural and intellectual experiences, including a specially designed Theme Pavilion crafted with the support of the National Institute of Design. It highlights artistic and thematic displays that resonate with the fair’s spirit of literary celebration. A dedicated Children’s Pavilion will host storytelling sessions, interactive workshops, quizzes, and author engagements aimed at fostering reading habits among young audiences.

A hallmark of NDWBF is its Authors’ Corner and Lekhak Manch, spaces that encourage dialogues, panel discussions, and book launches. These hubs have become focal points for literary exchange, providing platforms for both established and emerging voices to connect with enthusiastic audiences.

In addition to the B2C experience, NDWBF 2026 emphasizes professional networking and business opportunities through events like the New Delhi Rights Table, a strategic B2B matchmaking forum scheduled within the fair. This forum enables publishers, rights agents, translators, and editors to explore translation and distribution deals, facilitating cross-border publishing collaborations.

International exhibitors will have dedicated spaces to showcase their publications, build relationships, and engage in cross-cultural dialogues. Meanwhile, the fair’s cultural program includes music, performances, and artistic showcases, adding vibrancy and festivity to the overall experience.

With its unmatched scale and diversity, NDWBF 2026 continues to affirm India’s role as a crucial hub in the global publishing ecosystem – promoting literature, supporting the book trade, and celebrating the joy of reading for all.
