One of the major accomplishments for us was the successful completion of Globoil’s 25 years

ES. Globoil India recently celebrated the Silver Jubilee Year. Please take us through the journey of your organisation since inception and some major milestone achieved over the years?

Kailash Singh. Milestones come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They could include accomplishing a significant work project, performing well on a test, completing a major household remodel, or any number of other successes. One of the major accomplishments for us was the successful completion of Globoil 25 years. What a lovely start! A date that will live in our memories forever. Watching the entire edible oil industry together, at Hotel Leela in Mumbai on September 21, 1997. The history of Globoil is intricately interwoven with the growth of the Indian edible oil industry, its oil millers and global conglomerates, its leaders and entrepreneurs, its turmoils and celebrations. A number of accomplished and visionary business leaders and professionals provided me with invaluable support and guidance. Some names include Sandeep Bajoria CEO, Sunvin Group, Atul Chaturvedi, Executive Chairman, Renuka Sugars Ltd, Dr. B.V Mehta, Executive Director – The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India.

Blessed by Industry Doyens like Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group, Gautam Adani, Chairman Adani Group, Harsh Mariwala, Chairman, Marico Group, Baba Ramdev, Founder, Patanjali Foods and The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India, an all India body to solvent extractions industry and premier vegetable oil Association. Continuous and assured patronage of Adani Wilmar, Patanjali Foods, Tirumala, RSPO, Sawit Indonesia, BN Group, IFFCO ALANA Group, Liberty, Montage, Bunge, Gujarat Ambuja, Sime Darby, Emami, WASIL, Godrej Group, NK Protiens, Mahesh Edibles, Vijay Solvex, Kanpur Edible, Ghodawat Group, Sangrur & Mantora.To name a few, GLOBOIL grew from strength to strength and has been held, every year, with only a gap occurred due to pandemic in 2020. It was held 21 times in Mumbai and thrice in Goa. Globoil International was held 8 times in Dubai and for once in Jakarta & Colombo.

ES. Please share with us the highlights & takeaways of Globoil Event?

Kailash Singh. Globoil continues to touch millions of people’s lives both actively and passively by establishing a unique platform to facilitate the anticipated expansion of the edible oil business, to bring the stakeholders together, to share the knowledge, to exchange the information, to network and build the relationships – in short – to ‘know’ each other. It is with tremendous and unstinted support of numerous members of the ever expanding family of GLOBOIL that GLOBOIL grew from strength to strength; has been held, without a single gap, every year, in the third week of September, (Except 2020, the Covid year) Globoil India, founded by Teflas in 1997, has evolved into an autonomous and unified platform that serves as a significant interface between the various facets of the Edible Oil Industry. It has over the years played the definitive role in shaping the future of business and an ideal platform for participants to nurture the trust and confidence across the supply chain. In tough market conditions, Globoil infuses optimism and hope amongst the Industry stakeholders.
