The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) will organise IMTEX FORMING 2026, Asia’s largest exhibition dedicated to metal forming and manufacturing technologies, from 21 to 25 January 2026 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru. The five-day exhibition is expected to feature around 600 exhibitors from 22 countries, offering a comprehensive showcase of innovations shaping the future of manufacturing.

IMTEX FORMING 2026 will be held alongside three concurrent exhibitions. Tooltech will focus on machine tool accessories, metrology solutions, CAD/CAM tools, tooling systems, and emerging trends in the tooling industry. Digital Manufacturing will highlight real-time solutions in additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0, while Weldexpo, organised in association with the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India), will present the latest developments in welding technologies.

In addition to the exhibition floor, several parallel events will enhance knowledge sharing and industry engagement. These include the International Seminar on Forming Technology, which will address new trends, processes, equipment, and technologies in metal forming. The i2 Academia Square will provide a platform for academic and research institutions to present their R&D outcomes to industry stakeholders, while the Jagruti–IMTMA Youth Programme will aim to create awareness among young professionals about advancements in manufacturing.

Spread across four halls and covering an exhibition area of approximately 46,000 square metres, IMTEX FORMING 2026 will showcase innovations across the entire metal forming value chain. The event is expected to attract visitors from a wide range of sectors, including automotive and auto components, aerospace and defence, medical equipment, power, railways, construction equipment, general and heavy engineering, capital goods, electrical and electronics, and consumer durables.

According to Mohini Kelkar, President of IMTMA, metal forming currently accounts for nearly 29% of the Indian machine tool market and is poised for significant growth. In FY25, metal forming machine tool consumption stood at ₹9,139 crore, while production was valued at ₹2,696 crore, with exports recording approximately 6% year-on-year growth, led by presses, press brakes, bending machines, and shearing machines.

Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO of IMTMA, noted the increasing adoption of laser and laser-based applications across industries. Exhibitors at IMTEX FORMING 2026 will showcase fibre laser machines, precision levellers, pick-and-place units, servo presses, production monitoring systems, welding technologies, and 3D printing solutions, supporting the growth of indigenous manufacturing and exports.

IMTEX FORMING 2026 will serve as a key platform for accelerating digital transformation and productivity-led manufacturing across India’s industrial ecosystem.
