The 15th Conventions India Conclave (CIC) 2026 is set to take place from 19-21 August 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together domestic and international MICE buyers, destinations, convention centres, hotels, event service providers and industry stakeholders. Presented by the India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) and jointly organised by Delhi Tourism and ITPO, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the three-day conclave comes with a clear ambition: to strengthen India’s position as a global MICE destination.
With the theme “Powering the Future of Innovation,” CIC 2026 arrives at an interesting point for India’s business-events industry. The country is developing new convention infrastructure, expanding connectivity and attracting greater international attention. The question now is no longer simply whether India can host large events, but how effectively it can convert that capability into global business.
Three Days. One Larger MICE Conversation.
CIC 2026 has been designed around a mix of business, knowledge and networking, with more than 150 domestic and international buyers expected to participate. Its core elements include:
- India MICE Showcase
- Pre-scheduled B2B meetings
- Thought-leadership sessions
- High-impact networking
- Direct access to domestic and international buyers
The three-day programme follows a natural progression.
19 August sets the tone with registration, networking, the keynote panel on “Powering the Future of Innovation”, the inaugural function, cultural programme and inaugural dinner. It is essentially about understanding where the industry is heading and what innovation means for its next phase.
20 August shifts the focus towards business. The day features a power breakfast, exhibition opening, pre-fixed B2B appointments, a CEO Meet, industry sessions and another round of business meetings, before concluding with the Gala Dinner.
21 August continues the commercial conversation through reverse-marketing B2B meetings, followed by the valedictory session and trade visitor engagement.
So, the structure is simple: discover, discuss, connect and create business.
When a Meeting Has to Lead Somewhere
This is perhaps where CIC becomes particularly relevant for the industry.
The Hosted Buyer Programme is designed to create meaningful buyer-supplier interaction rather than leaving networking to chance. International buyers receive accommodation, hosted meals, airport transfers and scheduled business meetings, along with opportunities for hosted post-tours around Delhi. For Indian hotels, convention centres, DMCs, PCOs, tourism boards and event-service providers, this creates an opportunity to move from simply showcasing a destination to pitching it for actual business.
Innovation Is More Than Technology
The theme, “Powering the Future of Innovation,” also reflects a broader shift.
Innovation in MICE today is not limited to digital tools or event technology. It is increasingly about how venues operate, how delegates experience events, how destinations create value and how buyers and suppliers build relationships.
That makes the conclave’s knowledge sessions important alongside its B2B format. CIC is bringing together the commercial and intellectual sides of the industry — asking not only where the market is going, but also how the industry needs to evolve with it.
Delhi as the Bigger Showcase
Hosting CIC in Delhi adds another dimension. The capital combines international connectivity, convention infrastructure, hotels, heritage, culture and hospitality, while Bharat Mandapam itself represents India’s growing capability in large-scale conventions and exhibitions. For international buyers, however, infrastructure is only the beginning. The bigger proposition is the complete delegate experience — what happens before the meeting, inside the venue and after the event.
And that is ultimately what CIC 2026 is trying to put on the table. India has the infrastructure. It has the destinations. It has a growing MICE ecosystem.
The next step is turning that potential into preference, and preference into business.
That is where the 15th Conventions India Conclave could become more than another industry gathering: a meeting point where India’s MICE ambition meets the global market.
