The International Convention and Expo Centre in Goa was officially inaugurated during India Energy Week 2026, marking a significant step forward in India’s civic and institutional infrastructure. Launched alongside one of the world’s major global energy gatherings, the venue is positioned as a leading platform for international dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.

The project was developed with strong support from the Government of Goa, reflecting a shared vision to establish the state as a leading destination for conferences, institutional engagements, and high-value global events. The centre is owned by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), which envisioned it as a world-class facility to support international engagement. The initiative was guided by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, underlining its importance in India’s global energy strategy.

Project management, engineering coordination, and execution were handled by Engineers India Limited, ensuring seamless integration of architectural, structural, and building systems. The Ministry of Tourism also played a key role, aligning the project with the national objective of strengthening convention infrastructure and promoting India as a global meetings destination.

The centre was designed by CP Kukreja Architects, a multidisciplinary firm with more than five decades of experience and over 1,500 projects across India and more than 40 countries. Managing Principal Dikshu C. Kukreja described the venue as a civic space where global dialogue can take place within architecture rooted in local climate, culture, and context. He noted that hosting India Energy Week at the venue demonstrates the impact of thoughtful design in enabling collaboration and long-term value.

With its inauguration, the International Convention and Expo Centre, Goa, is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening India’s global convention ecosystem and supporting the country’s growing leadership in international events.
