IITF 2025 showcases india’s emerging economic power, says Jitin Prasada, MoS for commerce & industry at its inauguration

The 44th edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 commenced on November 14, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event highlights the huge potential of ‘aspirational India’ as an emerging economic power of the world. Inspired by the “Viksit Bharat @ 2047” vision and centered on the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” the fair features a globally confident, technologically advanced, and economically resilient country. The Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, Jitin Prasada, inaugurated the event at a well-attended function, pointing out that such events are imperative for making India self-reliant.

Mr. Prasada complimented ITPO for organizing this edition of the fair with an enhanced stature and size, expressing happiness over the participation of the Defence Pavilion after a gap of a decade. He stated that this year, the fair features India’s intrinsic strength and considerable GDP growth in diverse sectors, contributing to socio-economic progress and employment opportunities. He highlighted that to strengthen its trade relations, the country is signing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with a number of foreign countries. He noted that the entire world is recognizing India’s progress due to its political stability and secure economy for investment, expecting India to become a ‘skill capital of the world’ in the near future. The minister further mentioned that under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, India has emerged as a global brand synonymous with innovation, resilience, and growth. He emphasized that India’s rising stature is a testament to the country’s strengthened economic fundamentals, robust policy frameworks, and expanding global partnerships, positioning India as a trusted hub for trade, investment, and opportunity.

Present on the occasion were Nitin Kumar Yadav, Chairman, ITPO, Dr. Neeraj Kharwal, Managing Director, ITPO, Premjit Lal, Executive Director, ITPO, Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce of Govt. of Rajasthan, Kundan Kumar, Resident Commissioner of Bihar; Arava Rajkamal, Resident Commissioner and Secretary of Jharkhand, other senior government officials; participants from India and abroad; delegates; and media persons.

In his welcome address, ITPO Chairman Nitin Kumar Yadav highlighted the salient features, informing that the fair stands as a platform for business collaborations, technology exchange, and investment partnerships. The fair attracts over 3500 participants from India and abroad and has elicited the participation of 31 states and UTs, with Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh as the “Partner States” and Jharkhand as the “Focus State.” As many as 11 countries are taking part at the International Pavilion, including China, Thailand, the UAE, Malaysia, Sweden, Turkey, Iran, South Korea, Egypt, Lebanon, the Republic of Tunisia, and the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce. The participation of government departments, PSUs, MSMEs, start-ups, and foreign exhibitors underlines IITF’s growing role as a global meeting point for trade, technology, and cultural exchange. On the socio-economic front, participants of SARAS, Jute Manufactures Development Council, Small and Medium Enterprises, Handlooms, Handicrafts, the Coir Board, Khadi & Village Industries feature achievements of traditional sectors to reinforce their global appeal and standing.
