The APAO-AIOS 2025 Congress, held from 3rd to 6th April 2025, concluded successfully at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi. This landmark event marked the 39th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress, organized in conjunction with the 82nd Annual Conference of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS). It was a proud milestone for the Indian ophthalmic community, as it was the first-ever joint APAO-AIOS Congress hosted in India.
Bringing together over 13,000 ophthalmologists, eye care professionals, researchers, and industry leaders from across India, the Asia-Pacific region, and beyond, the Congress served as a celebration of innovation, learning, and collaboration. Across the four-day event, delegates engaged in a wide range of activities, including scientific sessions, keynote lectures, symposia, live surgical demonstrations, and interactive workshops. More than 1,200 scientific presentations covered emerging trends, technological advancements, and clinical best practices in the field of ophthalmology.
The Yashobhoomi Convention Centre offered a world-class setting, with advanced infrastructure and seamless facilities that fostered both education and networking. Highlights of the Congress included participation from over 75 countries, live surgeries performed by international experts, keynote addresses from leading ophthalmologists, and special sessions focused on AI, digital health, and innovation in eye care. The event also featured award ceremonies recognizing excellence in research and clinical practice, alongside a vibrant trade exhibition showcasing the latest ophthalmic technologies.
