The Taiwan Expo 2025 officially opened today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, heralding a new era of collaboration between Taiwan and India. Jointly organized by the International Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), this yearโs eighth edition has attracted a record 107 Taiwanese companies, signaling a strong commitment to Indiaโs dynamic market.
The Expo serves as a premier platform for industry collaboration, with major participants including Foxconn, Delta Electronics, Advantech, Phison Electronics, Nan Liu, and Breeze Group. Their presence underscores a shared vision for long-term partnerships and highlights Indiaโs emergence as a promising hub for technology and innovation.
The opening ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Indiaโs Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and Taiwanโs Representative to India, Dr. Mumin Chen. TAITRA Chairman James Huang emphasized the complementary strengths of the two economies, pointing out that Indiaโs thriving startup ecosystem and vast software talent pool perfectly align with Taiwanโs leadership in semiconductors, ICT, and smart technologies. โThis partnership holds immense potential for mutual growth and innovation,โ he remarked.
Strategically aligned with Indiaโs national initiatives, the Expo features specialized zones that cater to key sectors. The Smart Manufacturing Pavilion under the Make in India initiative showcases automation technologies, robotics, and precision equipment from companies such as Syntec, HIWIN, and Techman Robot. The Smart Technology Zone, supporting Digital India, highlights energy-saving solutions, cloud computing, industrial computers, and groundbreaking hydrogen energy systems and drone technologies by Taisys Technologies, marking its India debut.
The Electronics Manufacturing Zone brings together industry leaders like Foxconn and U-CAN, emphasizing Taiwanโs role in strengthening Indiaโs position within the global electronics supply chain. Meanwhile, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion presents 22 companies, including Advantech, Phison, and MSI, demonstrating innovations in intelligent micro-edge systems and generative AI model training platforms.
Adding a lifestyle dimension, the debut Taiwan Select Food Pavilion features nearly 40 companies offering products ranging from instant bubble tea and plant-based jerky to traditional noodles, perfectly complementing buyers attending the concurrent World Food India exhibition.
