The Plastiworld 2026 exhibition, held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, concluded as a grand success, delivering strong business outcomes and reinforcing India’s position in the global plastics trade. The event was inaugurated by Shri Vikas Pansare, IAS, MD, MSSIDC, as the Chief Guest.

Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a US$ 5 trillion economy, and the goal of increasing India’s export share in GDP to 20%, Plastiworld was conceptualised as a focused B2B platform. Organised by the All-India Plastics Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) in partnership with FIEO (Federation of Indian Export Organisations), the event aimed to connect Indian MSME plastic product manufacturers with verified global buyers.

The exhibition saw participation from over 100 Indian sellers, showcasing a wide range of plastic products. On the buyer side, more than 210 buyers from 47 countries were identified, including over 160 verified international buyers, along with 50+ sourcing agents and institutional buyers. Prominent Indian retail brands such as Reliance Retail and IKEA also participated.

Over the three days, approximately 4,000 pre-scheduled B2B meetings were organised, with around 2,000 meetings conducted in dedicated meeting zones. Each exhibitor generated an average of 22–25 business leads, highlighting strong engagement and deal-making potential.

A key highlight of Plastiworld 2026 was the conclusion of business worth ₹60 crore, along with the signing of over 800 MoUs between buyers and sellers, marking significant progress in export-oriented collaborations.

The event also witnessed a landmark development with the signing of a tripartite MoU between the India New Zealand Business Council (INZBC), FIEO, and AIPMA, aimed at strengthening international trade ties.

With global trade in plastic finished products valued at approximately US$ 1.3 trillion, and India’s exports currently at around US$ 12.5 billion, AIPMA has set an ambitious target to scale exports to US$ 50 billion within three years.

Plastiworld 2026 has thus emerged as a powerful platform driving export growth, global partnerships, and business opportunities for India’s plastics industry.
