The International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES) has announced that its 2026 World Summit will take place in Dubai. The three-day event will be hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), following the 2025 edition held in Guadalajara, Mexico. The summit will bring together global industry professionals under the theme “Beyond Boundaries.”

The programme will focus on key industry topics such as technology, sustainability, design, and client delivery. Workshops and panel discussions will be shaped by member priorities and current operational challenges, ensuring relevant and practical insights for attendees. The summit will be open to both IFES members and non-members, with a schedule that includes keynote sessions, networking opportunities, and informal social activities alongside the formal programme.

IFES Executive Director Gregor Bischkopf said the choice of Dubai reflects the city’s growing importance in the global exhibitions landscape. He described Dubai as a natural crossroads between East and West, making it an ideal location for an international industry gathering. The city’s strong infrastructure, global connectivity, extensive hotel capacity, and well-established exhibition calendar were also key factors in the decision.

Dubai’s exhibition sector has seen notable growth in recent years. In 2024, the Dubai World Trade Centre reported a 7 percent increase in attendees and a 32 percent year-on-year rise in large-scale events. This expansion reflects broader regional growth, with more international organisers entering the Gulf market and suppliers building regional delivery capabilities.

IFES President Jörg Zeissig noted that the 2025 summit in Guadalajara left participants energised and appreciative of the insights and connections gained. He added that the industry can now look forward to another impactful gathering in Dubai in 2026. Early bird registration is available, with special discounts for younger members.
