Marking a defining moment for India’s exhibition and MICE industry, the 15th IEIA Open Seminar & Exhibition Services Expo 2026 concluded on a resounding high, bringing together the most influential voices, policymakers, innovators, and global stakeholders under one roof to chart the future of India’s exhibition ecosystem. 

The landmark edition also celebrated a historic milestone, 20 years of the Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA), commemorating two decades of industry leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and transformation that have played a pivotal role in positioning India among the world’s fastest-growing and most promising exhibition markets. Organised by IEIA, the flagship international conclave welcomed more than 1,200 industry leaders, global delegates, CEOs, venue owners, exhibition organisers, service providers, trade associations, and senior government representatives, making it the largest and most influential gathering of the Indian exhibition industry. 

Held under the compelling theme “When the Right Dots Meet, Industry Moves,” the 15th edition served as a powerful platform for collaboration, innovation, knowledge exchange, strategic networking, and business acceleration, reaffirming India’s emergence as a global exhibitions and MICE powerhouse. 

The grand inaugural ceremony set the tone for the event, bringing together eminent dignitaries, senior policymakers, and global thought leaders who underscored the strategic importance of exhibitions in driving trade, tourism, manufacturing, investments, and international business engagement. 

The inaugural session was graced by distinguished leaders including Amb. Jawed Ashraf, IFS (Retd.), Chairman, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO); Shri Suman Billa, IAS, Additional Secretary & Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India; Shri Sooraj Dhawan, President, IEIA; Shri Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML); Shri Jagdish Patankar, Hon. Secretary, IEIA, Shri Ubaid Ahmad, Vice President, IEIA, Ms. Nidhi Sharma, Executive Director, IEIA along with all Executive Members of the Association. 

Amb. Jawed Ashraf, IFS (Retd.), Chairman, ITPO, delivered the Chief Guest Address, highlighting: “The evolution of the exhibition industry in India has been remarkable, with larger events and increasing global participation contributing significantly to economic growth and employment generation. In the age of AI, the continued growth of exhibitions highlights the enduring importance of face-to-face communication and human engagement. Our role as government is to act as force multipliers for the industry. We must work together in an integrated manner to create a seamless participant experience from arrival to departure and continue strengthening the ecosystem through collaborative PPP-led approaches with the industry.”

Delivering the Special Address, Shri Suman Billa, IAS, Additional Secretary & Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, said: “There is a strong national vision for the tourism sector’s contribution to India’s GDP to grow from 5% to 10% over the next decade, with the MICE segment expected to be one of the biggest engines driving this growth. As India continues to be one of the fastest growing economies in the world, exhibitions will play a critical role in showcasing technologies, products, manufacturing, and services to global markets. With significant expansion in airports, expressways, and MICE infrastructure over the last decade, the next focus must be on optimising and better utilising our exhibition and convention centres through collective effort and proactive collaboration.” 

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sooraj Dhawan, President, IEIA, shared: “Exhibitions are the platforms that showcase technology, innovation, and the manufacturing capabilities of a nation to the world. As an industry, we are not just creating events, we are architects of infrastructure and catalysts of growth. IEIA has been working very closely with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to strengthen the exhibition ecosystem as India moves towards becoming the Expo Hub of the World and contributing meaningfully to the vision of Viksit Bharat.” 

Shri Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML, highlighted: “It is a matter of pride to witness both IEIA and India Exposition Mart Ltd. completing 20 remarkable years together. IEIA has played a significant role in uniting organisers, venue partners, and industry stakeholders from across India, and we are proud to be part of this journey. Today, with the upcoming Noida International Airport adding greater connectivity, the opportunities ahead for the exhibition industry are even bigger. At IEML, we have always believed in being a venue by the exhibitors and for the exhibitors.” 

Welcoming dignitaries, delegates, partners, and industry leaders from across the globe, Shri Jagdish Patankar, Hon. Secretary, IEIA, stated: “It is wonderful to see the exhibition industry come together once again for meaningful conversations and collective growth. The exchange of ideas, innovation, and collaboration at such gatherings continues to inspire new opportunities and strengthen industry connections.” 

Concluding the inaugural proceedings with a vote of thanks, Shri Ubaid Ahmad, Vice President, IEIA, remarked: “India has immense potential, and the next 10 years will be about India and only India. Across sectors, the country is witnessing remarkable growth, stronger global positioning, and expanding opportunities, with the exhibitions and MICE industry playing a significant role in this journey. A defining highlight of this year’s edition was the Exhibition Services Expo, featuring 130+ cutting-edge booths showcasing breakthrough technologies, event solutions, experiential innovations, venue capabilities, infrastructure advancements, and future-ready services transforming the business events landscape. The vibrant expo floor became a dynamic marketplace for ideas, partnerships, and innovation, enabling exhibitors to engage directly with key decision-makers, buyers, organisers, and venue operators from across India and international markets. 

The event’s tech-enabled pre-scheduled B2B meetings platform created unparalleled business opportunities by facilitating high-value strategic matchmaking between exhibitors, buyers, organisers, venue operators, and service providers, generating meaningful conversations, new partnerships, commercial collaborations, and tangible business outcomes. These structured networking engagements delivered exceptional ROI for participants and reinforced the event’s reputation as the industry’s most effective platform for business acceleration, collaboration, and partnership development. 

The event opened with extensive pre-event engagement through high-level IEIA sub-committee meetings on sustainability, AI & digitalisation, logistics, venues, organisers, women in leadership, skilling & training, ethics, sports & wellness, and MICE hospitality, reflecting the sector’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and future-readiness. Adding a vibrant experiential and cultural dimension to the conclave, the event also featured curated networking and entertainment experiences that strengthened industry camaraderie and relationship-building beyond the conference halls. 

The opening evening featured “Rang E Mehfil”, the grand networking celebration presented by R E Rogers India Pvt. Ltd., commemorating 40 years of excellence through an evening of culture, hospitality, and industry networking. Delegates also enjoyed a live performance by celebrated comedian Amit Tandon, bringing laughter and entertainment to the gala networking evening, while wellness and lifestyle initiatives such as the IEIA Golf Tournament 2026 and an energising Zumba session offered unique opportunities for informal networking, recreation, and community engagement.
