From Groundwork to Global Impact: A Journey Through 21 Years of Trade Show Leadership

ES. Can you tell us about your journey and what are some of the key responsibilities you manage on a day-to-day basis?

Abhinav Kumar Singh. I am a experienced professional with an MBA specializing in Marketing and Operation Management, boasting over 21 years of extensive experience in the B2B tradeshow industry, I have honed my skills in conceptualizing, planning, and executing high-impact events, driving growth through strategic sales and marketing leadership. My career began with hands-on exhibition design and fabrication, providing a solid foundation in tradeshow infrastructure, which paved the way for roles in leading organizations and trade fair bodies, including my current position as General Manager – Exhibitions (Sales & Marketing) at the Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA).

Here, I spearhead initiatives for flagship events like IntraPac India and PRINTPACK INDIA, while successfully managing sales and marketing operations, client relationships, and cross-functional teams. I have also played pivotal roles in various sectors, contributing to significant industrial development and engagement through collaborations with key associations. My commitment to delivering value-driven solutions in dynamic environments is reflected in my ability to promote internationally recognized brands and facilitate growth across global markets.

ES. What made International Summit for Packaging Industry -2025 a key event, and what specific contributions did IPAMA bring to the summit?

Abhinav Kumar Singh. The Indian Printing, Packaging & Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA) proudly supported the International Summit for Packaging Industry (ISPI-2025) from March 6–8 at Hotel Eros, New Delhi, organized by the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP). Centered around the theme “Packaging 5S: Safe, Secure, Standardized, Smart, and Sustainable Packaging,” the three-day summit highlighted innovative trends and technologies in packaging aimed at enhancing productivity and

sustainability. IPAMA represented the Indian printing and packaging machinery industry, voicing its innovations, needs, and contributions IPAMA’s presence helped bridge connections between machine manufacturers and packaging solution providers, sparking potential partnerships that align with the Packaging 5S goals.

ES. What are some of the key highlights you’re most excited about for this year’s edition of IntraPac India?

Abhinav Kumar Singh. IntraPac India 2025, taking place from December 10–13, 2025 at India Exposition Mart Ltd. in Greater Noida, promises to be the premier event for the packaging and processing industries, featuring an expanded focus on processing alongside packaging. Spanning 15,000 sq. m., the exhibition is expected to host over 250 exhibitors and is anticipated to attract more than 15,000 trade visitors from India and beyond. Supported by leading industry bodies and international associations, the event will also feature a concurrent high-level technical conference, an Innovation Zone with cutting-edge solutions, and live machinery demonstrations, making it a must-attend for industry professionals.

ES. Since you are associated with Exhibition Excellence Awards, could you share your insights on its significance in the industry?

Abhinav Kumar Singh. The Exhibition Excellence Awards (EEA) have become a crucial standard in India’s exhibition and trade fair sector, celebrating outstanding achievements in the MICE industry while providing organizers, service providers, and venues with vital recognition and credibility. The awards highlight best practices and innovation, setting performance benchmarks that inspire industry players to enhance quality and operational excellence. They serve as a morale booster for teams by validating their efforts and also function as a premier networking event that unites key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and dialogue. By spotlighting emerging trends and offering visibility to both established names and regional organizers, the EEA enhances India’s standing as a growing hub for exhibitions and trade fairs on the global stage.
