Thane, Maharashtra is set to host the ET Make in India SME Regional Summit on June 26, 2025, just ahead of World MSME Day. With the theme “Thane Means Business: Manufacturing Excellence, Entrepreneurial Drive,” the event will highlight the critical role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in shaping the region’s industrial and economic growth. Thane, part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, is Maharashtra’s third most industrialised district, home to over 1.6 lakh registered MSMEs.

Organised by The Economic Times, the summit will bring together a diverse mix of stakeholders, including MSME owners, policymakers, financial institutions, and industry experts. Key objectives include addressing common challenges related to financing, regulatory compliance, and the adoption of new technologies. The event’s format includes keynote sessions, panel discussions, fireside chats, and networking opportunities, offering a holistic approach to solving the real-world problems faced by small businesses.

A major highlight will be the keynote address by Sonali Deore, General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Thane. Panelists from leading industry bodies such as CHEMEXCIL and EEPC India, along with regional MSME leaders, will explore strategies to unlock growth in manufacturing and export from the Thane region. Additionally, a fireside chat with a representative from New India Assurance will delve into risk management and insurance solutions tailored for SMEs.

The summit will conclude with a networking dinner sponsored by IDBI Bank and New India Assurance, providing a platform for entrepreneurs to engage with bankers, service providers, and fellow business owners. As part of the broader ET Make in India series, which has previously been held in cities like Bengaluru and Kolkata, the Thane edition aims to catalyse innovation, policy advocacy, and sustainable scaling for India’s MSME sector. With focused sessions and practical insights, the summit is positioned to serve as a catalyst for local enterprise development.
