Trade events are not just shows; they are catalysts for industry transformation.

ES. Can you share your journey into the exhibitions and global trade events space, and what inspired you to take on leadership roles in high-impact shows?

Nazeeba Zarin. My journey into exhibitions and global trade events has been organic and hands-on. While my academic roots in computer science, international business, and mass communication pointed toward a career in IT, I made my debut as a rookie with the trade fair organisation, PDA. And what started as just another job soon became my passion. Today, with over two decades of experience in go-to-market strategy, marketing, sales, operations, and project leadership, I have gained a comprehensive expertise in the industry. Leading high-impact shows across renewable energy, banking technology, and maritime sectors have reinforced my belief in purpose-driven platforms. Taking on leadership roles became a natural progression, fueled by a desire to build platforms that create long-term industry value.

ES. PDA Ventures has grown significantly in recent years. How would you summarise the company’s evolution and positioning in the trade exhibitions & congress domain?

Nazeeba Zarin. PDA Ventures has redefined the traditional exhibition model, evolving from a conventional organiser into a strategic builder of high-quality, niche platforms. By integrating a synergistic media ecosystem, we’ve moved beyond event cycles to provide year-round industry engagement and market intelligence. From pioneering home-grown brands that attract global acquisitions to representing India on the world stage, we bridge the gap between local innovation and international significance. Today, we stand as a trusted partner across diverse sectors, including Woodworking, Renewable Energy, BFSI Technology, Seafood, Alco-Bev, Wellness, Airport Infrastructure, and Maritime, driven by data, high-calibre content, and a strong commitment to sustainable growth.

ES. The World Seafood Congress 2026 will be hosted in India for the first time ever – what does this milestone mean for India’s seafood industry and its global trade recognition?

Nazeeba Zarin. Hosting the World Seafood Congress 2026 for the first time marks a pivotal shift for India, from a high-volume exporter to a high-value global leader. World Seafood Congress isn’t just an event; it’s India’s arrival on the international center stage for seafood. Bringing the Congress to our shores validates the strength of our institutional frameworks and gives our local exporters a front-row seat to global innovation. It is a unique opportunity to redefine

India’s reputation, moving beyond scale to emphasise our commitment to responsible, technology-driven trade. For the Indian seafood industry, this milestone is transforming local expertise into global influence.

ES. How do you see India’s role evolving within international seafood trade, and how can WSC 2026 accelerate that trajectory?

Nazeeba Zarin. While my perspective is that of an organiser rather than a policy analyst, our work at the intersection of industry and regulation reveals a clear shift. India is rapidly evolving through massive investments in modern infrastructure and digital traceability. WSC 2026 acts as a high-velocity catalyst for this change. By facilitating direct regulatory dialogue and aligning local practices with global benchmarks, the Congress transforms India’s trajectory, moving us closer to a future defined by international partnerships and future-ready standards.

ES. What advice would you give to young professionals aspiring to build a career at the intersection of trade, sustainability, and global stakeholder engagement?

Nazeeba Zarin. To succeed at this intersection, start by mastering the fundamentals, understanding the market dynamics, and the evolving expectations of global stakeholders. In an industry that thrives on trust, an eye for detail and a commitment to in-depth learning are your greatest assets for building long-term credibility.

Beyond technical skills, prioritise emotional intelligence and the ‘human element’ of trade, the face-to-face engagement. My best advice is to remain patient and purpose-led; this sector rewards those who pair professional consistency with a genuine passion for creating impact.
