in-cosmetics Korea 2024 Draws Record Attendance, Showcases Cutting-Edge Beauty Biotech

The premier exhibition for personal care ingredients in South Korea, in-cosmetics Korea 2024, wrapped up on July 26. The event saw a remarkable turnout with over 16,700 visitors, marking a 30% increase in attendance compared to the 2023 edition.

Held concurrently with Intercharm, in-cosmetics Korea 2024 featured a diverse lineup of international suppliers, including DSM, Ashland, Evonik, and Lubrizol, and welcomed attendees from 17 countries.

Returning exhibitors such as Activon, Cellicon Lab, GFC Life Science, and H&A Pharmachem showcased their latest innovations. Notable highlights from the exhibition included SAES Chemicals’ ZeoSAES UV Booster—an innovative inorganic UV booster derived from engineered zeolites—Cellicon Lab’s DCA-WAT—a new dermal delivery technology—and H&A Pharmachem’s Layered Actives Delivery system.

One exhibitor remarked, “in-cosmetics Korea is a crucial platform for gaining recognition among Korean cosmetics manufacturers. It provides a valuable opportunity to engage with multiple customers simultaneously and generate interest in our products.”

In response to increasing consumer interest in the intersection of beauty and health, this year’s event saw the expansion of the Natural Extract Zone. This section of the exhibition highlighted the industry’s shift towards sustainability and the growing demand for natural and organic products. Due to its success, the Natural Extract Zone will be replaced by a larger Inner Beauty Zone in 2025.

The in-cosmetics Korea Awards ceremony, held on the first day, celebrated standout companies in the industry. The newly introduced K-Beauty Standout Award, recognizing innovative skincare and makeup products setting global trends, was awarded to dsm-firmenich for PENTAVITIN®, a natural ingredient known for its exceptional hydration and skin-nourishing benefits.
