Improving Our World With The Power Of Skills: Indiaskills 2018

As a part of World Skills India, INDIASKILLS 2018 was held from 2nd-6th October, 2018 at Aerocity Ground, New Delhi. IndiaSkills is a biennial competition under WorldSkills initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. WorldSkills has 75 Member countries and regions, all working with youth, educators, governments, and industries to help prepare the workforce and talent of today for the jobs of the future. Skill Development is one of the major focuses of the Government of India and India has been a leading participant of the World Skills International competition.

  • The highlights of the event include:
    Skill competition and Exhibition: Over 400 competitors from 27 Indian States & Union Territories battled it out in 46 skills, 4 demo skills and 8 tradition skills; along with 10 Abylympic Skills.
  • Try a skill & Counselling Sessions to involve the people attending the event, in the movement towards skills development.
  • State Skills Ministers Conclave and a CEO Round Table Conference.
  • Seminars and Panel Discussions.
    The competition is organised on state and regional level as well, so that individuals from all across the country can participate in the movement towards skills development. The aim is also to raise the profile and recognition of skilled people, and show how important skills are in achieving economic growth for the nation while developing job creation opportunities.
