In a moment that reflects both national pride and global recognition, Yashobhoomi – the India International Convention & Expo Centre (IICC) in New Delhi – has been officially selected to host the 27th International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IIFCC World Lab Conference), scheduled to take place from 25–29 October 2026.

The announcement, made on 22nd May 2025 during the closing ceremony of the IFCC-EUROMEDLAB Congress in Brussels, marks a significant milestone for India’s growing leadership in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. The Brussels edition of the congress drew participation from over 4,000 delegates representing more than 100 countries. The 2026 conference is expected to welcome a similar turnout, with over 40% of attendees anticipated to be international delegates—further positioning India as a key destination for scientific collaboration and innovation.
According to data from India’s Ministry of Tourism, the average domestic conference delegate spends approximately USD 278. Meanwhile, Mr. Phil Chung, CEO of Yashobhoomi Operating Company (Kinexin Convention Management Pvt. Ltd.), highlighted that international delegates typically spend between USD 3,000–5,000, referencing recent survey data from India and Korea. Based on these estimates, the organising committee, in collaboration with Yashobhoomi Operating Company, projects that the 2026 event could generate ₹50–100 crore INR in direct delegate spending.
Yashobhoomi, India’s premier venue for international conventions and exhibitions, will serve as the platform for this global gathering. The official announcement in Brussels was commemorated by Mr. Phil Chung and Mr. Nitin Chauhan, Head of Convention Sales and Marketing, who were both honoured during the ceremony and unveiled New Delhi as the next host city.
Also present at the occasion were Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Sinha and Dr. Praveen Sharma, Co-Chairs of the Organising Committee. They expressed their enthusiasm for India’s role in hosting the event, remarking that it was a matter of immense pride to bring such a prestigious scientific congress to Yashobhoomi—a venue that symbolizes the country’s aspirations on the global stage.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Phil Chung noted, “Yashobhoomi is more than just a venue—it is India’s gateway to the global MICE industry. The unwavering commitment of the Honourable Prime Minister of India and Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, in advancing India’s trade exhibition and convention ecosystem has been truly inspiring. This national vision, manifested in the successful hosting of various tradeshows at Yashobhoomi, has encouraged us to apply our global expertise to elevate this world-class centre, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in September 2023.”

Featuring advanced infrastructure, sustainable architecture, cutting-edge technology, and exceptional connectivity, Yashobhoomi has quickly emerged as one of Asia’s leading convention destinations. Its selection as the host venue for the IIFCC World Lab Conference 2026 is a testament to its world-class capabilities and India’s rising stature in international scientific exchange.
Beyond fostering high-level scientific discourse, the 27th IIFCC World Lab Conference is expected to create significant opportunities for India’s healthcare, diagnostics, and medtech sectors to engage with and collaborate alongside global leaders in the field.
