ES. Deepali Designs has witnessed the evolution of India’s exhibition and experiential industry over nearly three decades. Looking back at your journey, what were the defining turning points that transformed the company into a leading force in this space?

Vinay Mittal. Over the past three decades, our growth has been shaped by a willingness to evolve with changing industry needs. What began as an exhibition design company gradually expanded into a 360-degree experiential solutions enterprise.

Key turning points included our diversification into large-format government events, investor summits, sports ceremonies, cultural festivals, and immersive public experiences. Equally important was our investment in in-house capabilities, technology integration, and infrastructure that enabled us to execute projects at scale. Every milestone reinforced our belief that experiences have the power to inspire, engage, and transform, helping establish Deepali Designs as a trusted industry leader.

ES. With global geopolitical shifts, changing supply chains, how do you see these developments influencing India’s exhibitions, infrastructure, and experiential design industry over the next few years?

Vinay Mittal. Global geopolitical shifts and supply chain realignments are creating a significant opportunity for India. As businesses look to diversify markets and manufacturing bases, India is emerging as a preferred destination for investment, trade, and innovation.

This will drive greater demand for world-class exhibitions, investor platforms, convention infrastructure, and experiential environments. We expect stronger emphasis on technology, sustainability, localisation, and faster execution capabilities. The industry will move beyond showcasing products to facilitating business ecosystems and strategic partnerships. For experiential companies, this presents an opportunity to create globally competitive experiences that reflect India’s growing economic and cultural influence.

ES. The events and exhibitions industry today is moving beyond physical structures into experience-led storytelling. What is your long-term vision for how Indian exhibition design can compete with global benchmarks?

Vinay Mittal. The future of exhibition design lies at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and human engagement. Indian exhibition design has the creative depth, cultural richness, and execution capabilities to compete with the best globally. Our vision is to move beyond static displays towards immersive, data-driven, and emotionally engaging experiences powered by AI, digital technologies, and interactive content. At the same time, we must retain our unique ability to tell authentic stories rooted in India’s heritage and aspirations. The goal is not merely to match global standards but to create a distinct Indian experiential design language that inspires audiences worldwide.

ES. Having executed projects across exhibitions, public platforms, and large-scale experiential events, what legacy do you hope Deepali Designs will create for the next generation of the Indian MICE and exhibition industry?

Vinay Mittal. Our aspiration is to leave behind more than a portfolio of successful projects. We hope to contribute to building a stronger, more innovative, and globally respected experiential industry in India. The legacy we seek is one of raising benchmarks in creativity, execution, professionalism, and scale. We want future generations to believe that Indian companies can conceptualise and deliver world-class experiences that influence audiences globally. Equally important is nurturing talent, embracing innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence. If Deepali Designs inspires the next generation to think bigger and push boundaries, that will be our greatest achievement.
