Messe München has reported the strongest financial performance in its history, achieving record results in fiscal year 2025 despite a challenging global economic environment. Announcing the company’s annual results, CEOs Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel said, Messe München delivered its best-ever fiscal year results in 2025. Achieving such excellent figures amid economic headwinds also underscores the vital role trade fairs play in driving economic growth and fostering international dialogue.

The record performance was driven by an exceptionally busy exhibition calendar. During 2025, the Munich exhibition grounds hosted 18 own events, participations and partnerships, including 10 of its 14 world-leading trade fairs, alongside 74 guest events. A total of 34,600 exhibitors and more than 2.5 million visitors participated in events at the venue, contributing to consolidated group sales of EUR 594 million, group EBITDA of EUR 175 million, and consolidated net income of EUR 99 million.

The Munich venue generated EUR 517 million in sales, EUR 152 million in EBITDA, and EUR 88 million in net income, supported by major events including BAU, automatica, drinktec, transport logistic, bauma, and IAA MOBILITY. While the company expects revenue at the Munich venue to moderate in 2026 due to the regular event rotation cycle, the outlook for the current year remains positive despite geopolitical and economic uncertainties.

International operations continued to strengthen the group’s resilience. Messe München organised 42 events outside Germany, attracting more than 1.8 million visitors and 17,000 exhibitors. Its global portfolio expanded through analytica USA and transport logistic Americas in North America, while IE expo, Laser China, productronica China, and electronica China performed strongly in China. In India, flagship exhibitions including IFAT India, electronica India, and analytica Lab India reinforced the company’s growing presence.

Highlighting the importance of international expansion, the CEOs stated, “Our foreign business is an important pillar for further growth and makes us more resilient to market volatility. In line with our strategy, we will continue to invest in expanding our international presence.” They added that international growth also benefits Munich, noting, “A great many of our customers come across our brands abroad and then travel to the world-leading trade fair in Munich.” In 2025, 40.7% of visitors and 60.2% of exhibitors at Messe München’s own events came from outside Germany.

Building on this momentum, Messe München acquired U.S.-based Tradeshow Logic in January 2026 and established a new North American subsidiary. The company also launched IFAT Saudi Arabia, described as the most successful international market entry for its environmental technology portfolio to date. Meanwhile, bauma China 2026 will be hosted across two exhibition centres for the first time, reflecting growing market demand.

Looking ahead, Messe München will host 15 own events, participations and partnerships and 93 guest events in 2026. The company is also investing approximately EUR 80 million by 2030 to modernise its exhibition grounds through infrastructure upgrades, expanded photovoltaic installations, digital signage and an AI strategy focused on personalisation, matchmaking, analytics and lead generation.

Beyond its financial performance, Messe München continues to generate significant economic value. According to a Prognos study, its events contribute EUR 4.45 billion in economic impact annually and support approximately 34,400 jobs across Germany, reinforcing its position as one of Europe’s leading exhibition and convention organisers.
