Global exhibitions organiser Easyfairs has made a landmark move by acquiring its first United States‑based event: the Energy Projects Conference & Expo (EPC). This marks the start of Easyfairs’ strategic expansion into the U.S. market, broadening its global footprint in the energy‑and‑infrastructure events segment.

EPC – regarded by Easyfairs as “the world’s largest energy‑projects event” – has demonstrated rapid growth since its founding three years ago. What began as a modest conference in a hotel has evolved into a major trade show that in 2025 attracted approximately 4,500 visitors and featured over 200 exhibitors and sponsors.

The portfolio covered by EPC spans five major sub‑segments of the energy sector: LNG export, power generation, petrochemical & refining, midstream infrastructure, and alternative energies. This diversity and alignment with evolving energy markets were key factors cited by Easyfairs in acquiring the event.

“EPC has the perfect profile for Easyfairs to expand our presence in the vibrant and rapidly evolving energy sector,” said Easyfairs Group CEO Matt Benyon. He added that the acquisition supports Easyfairs’ objective of growing in the U.S. by bringing “leading events with strong growth potential” into its global portfolio.

Easyfairs’ expansion strategy now aims to both grow EPC organically – expanding its sub‑segments and conference programme – and to replicate the EPC format in other energy‑industry clusters worldwide, leveraging its global capacities.

According to Arnaud Istas, Easyfairs’ Group Head of M&A US, this move builds on Easyfairs’ previous successful experiment in “geo‑cloning” events for different markets. For instance, the company recently launched the North American edition of another well‑known brand, bringing two U.S. events onto its map – and signaling ambitions for more.

Importantly, the existing EPC team will remain in place to ensure continuity, growth, and preservation of the show’s identity. EPC’s founder, Josh Bull, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, welcoming Easyfairs’ operational expertise and global systems to elevate EPC’s reach and quality of experience for its community.

The next edition of EPC under Easyfairs’ stewardship is scheduled for 16 – 17 June 2026 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston – a milestone that will test this new transatlantic venture’s ability to deliver on expanded scale and ambition.

This acquisition comes on the heels of Easyfairs securing backing from shareholders and investors in 2024 – a move that strengthened the company’s capacity to pursue both organic expansion and strategic M&A globally.

With this strategic acquisition, Easyfairs not only extends its operational geography into North America but also reinforces its commitment to serving high‑growth sectors like energy – potentially reshaping how global energy conferences and trade shows are convened and scaled.
